Alcohol/vol 14%
The wine is of an intense colour. The nose is fruity with pronounced notes of blackcurrant, black cherries and a hint of spice. Full bodied, Château Blaignan shows structure and velvet tannins on the palate, that make it a wine to drink young or to keep a few years in cellar (to be kept between 3 to 12 years).

This generous wine comes from a 239-acre property. It has weight, layers of black-currant flavors balanced by rich tannins and juicy acidity. The fruitiness is intense, given essential freshness by the crisp aftertaste. Drink the wine from 2022.

Fresh and focused, with streaks of bay leaf and chalk scoring the core of gently mulled black currant fruit. Reveals a lingering tobacco note on the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2022.

The 2016 Blaignan has a forward, fruit-driven bouquet with mint-tinged black fruit, becoming more cedary with aeration, though never complex. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rustic tannin, classic in style with a masculine, tobacco-infused finish that does not outstay its welcome. Conservative, but thoughtfully made. Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois tasting in London.
