Broad and fleshy on entry and then tighter in the middle, offering sappy, spice-tinged citrus and orchard fruit flavors that are braced by a spine of juicy acidity. Clings very nicely on the penetrating finish, which repeats the pear and fennel notes. This wine, which delivers surprising energy for its heft, saw 35% new French oak but doesn't really show it.

Lime balm, nectarine, mint and gardenia aromas combine on the nose of this bottling from the famed vineyard. The palate is bright, with orange peel and seared Meyer lemon flavors alongside warmer tones of toasted almond and butter that arise toward the finish.
