For a holiday so frequently associated with tipsy merriment, St. Patrick's Day is certainly celebrated with a bum bunch of drinks. We're sick of the green tinted beer and over-done Irish car bombs, we're ready for some decent cocktails!

The Emerald

2 oz Irish Whiskey
1 oz sweet vermouth
2 dashes orange bitters

Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass and fill with cracked ice. Stir well for 30 seconds and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

We love using Jameson Irish Whiskey, Bittermens Orange Cream Citrate Bitters & Martini & Rossi Sweet Vermouth for this preparation!

The Blarney Stone

2 oz Irish Whiskey
1 oz fresh lime juice
Ginger beer, chilled
Garnish: lime twist

Add whiskey and lime juice to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake until well chilled, about 15 seconds. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Top with ginger beer and garnish with lime twist.

Our favorites for this cocktail are Concannon Irish Whiskey and Gosling's Ginger Beer (not just for dark and stormies!)

Not feeling up to the mixin and wanna take the easy route? Irish whiskey is fantastic on it's own too! Try a few drams neat or over ice.
